Itinerary
04:30 AM
We will pick you up from your hotel in the historic center of Cusco to begin our expedition to the Vilcabamba mountain range.
07:00 AM
Arrival at the traditional town of Mollepata, where we will make a strategic stop to enjoy an energizing local buffet breakfast.
08:00 AM
Continuation by transport for 1 hour along a winding road until we reach Soraypampa (3,900 masl), our base camp and starting point of the trek.
09:00 AM
Start of the ascent to the lake. The hike is of moderate-high difficulty, takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and crosses stunning glacial landscapes guarded by the majestic Salkantay snow-capped peak.
11:00 AM
Arrival at the dazzling Humantay Lake (4,200 masl). We will have about 1 hour of free time for photos, to make an offering to the mountains with coca leaves, and to appreciate the mesmerizing beauty of its turquoise waters contrasting with the perpetual snow.
12:00 PM
Careful descent along the same return trail to our camp in Soraypampa.
01:30 PM
Return bus trip to the town of Mollepata.
02:30 PM
Arrival in Mollepata to enjoy a well-deserved buffet lunch and recover energy after the physical exertion.
05:30 PM
Return to Cusco, dropping you off a few blocks from the main square or at your hotel.
